Could you briefly introduce yourself and your role at\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Fondazione Piemonte Innova<\/span><\/span>?<\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]I\u2019m<\/span>\u00a0Silvana\u00a0<\/span>Sanfeliu<\/span>\u00a0Giaimo, responsible f<\/span>or th<\/span>e\u00a0<\/span>international\u00a0<\/span>collaboration\u00a0<\/span>development of Fondazione Piemonte Innova<\/span>\u00a0(FPI)<\/span>, not only\u00a0<\/span>manag<\/span>ing<\/span>\u00a0the relations with European and international Clusters and organisations<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>but also\u00a0<\/span>in charge of<\/span>\u00a0European projects.\u00a0<\/span>I\u2019ve<\/span>\u00a0been working at FPI for more than 15 years,\u00a0<\/span>supporting the cluster members in their internationalisation strategies as well as the<\/span>\u00a0stakeholders<\/span>\u00a0in the<\/span>ir innovation plans<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>in business opportunity assessment and technological evaluation<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>for innovation projects<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>M<\/span>y\u00a0<\/span>technical background, I\u2019m an electronic engineer from Universidad del Norte (Colombia) and\u00a0<\/span>have a post-graduate master<\/span>\u2019s<\/span>\u00a0in Information and Communication Technologies<\/span>\u00a0(ICT) for Management<\/span>\u00a0from the\u00a0<\/span>Politecnico<\/span>\u00a0di Torino (Italy),\u00a0<\/span>and<\/span>\u00a0my\u00a0<\/span>multi-cultural experience<\/span>, have provided me the tools and skills to carry out\u00a0<\/span>and enjoy\u00a0<\/span>my work<\/span>, activating partnerships, coordinating\u00a0<\/span>European projects and<\/span>\u00a0support<\/span>ing<\/span>\u00a0knowhow and methodology transfer with other countries.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1732199762928{margin-bottom: 40px !important;}”][vc_column][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1768387323920{margin-bottom: 1.875em !important;}”]<\/p>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]Fondazione Piemonte Innova (FPI)\u00a0<\/span><\/span>is a non-profit organisation\u00a0<\/span><\/span>for innovation and\u00a0<\/span>digitalisation<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>established<\/span>\u00a0with a wide partnership between public and private Regional and National actors.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0Its mission is to contribute to the regional and national competitiveness by accelerating companies that use technologies as a strategic development factor and supporting\u00a0<\/span>public and private<\/span>\u00a0institutions in planning and managing innovation processes.\u00a0<\/span>FPI<\/span>\u00a0facilitates the relations between companies, research\u00a0<\/span>centres<\/span>\u00a0and the policy makers and other stakeholders, both public and private,\u00a0<\/span>in order to<\/span>\u00a0create opportunities of collaboration for technology transfer, development of R&D projects, pilot and demonstration of solutions, adopting of innovative solution by public administrations, etc.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1732199762928{margin-bottom: 40px !important;}”][vc_column][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1768387285397{margin-bottom: 1.875em !important;}”]<\/p>\n

In what ways\u00a0<\/span>does\u00a0<\/span>FPI<\/span>\u00a0contribute to strengthening the competitiveness and innovation of companies\u00a0<\/span>in<\/span>\u00a0the Piedmont region\u00a0<\/span>among themselves and on the European stage?<\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]FPI is\u00a0a strategic partner of the regional and national institutions\u00a0regarding\u00a0the implementation of innovation and technologies in different areas of interest (such as smart cities, industry 4.0, etc.).\u00a0Piemonte Innova coordinates\u00a0the\u00a0Regional ICT Innovation Cluster (Polo ICT),\u00a0established\u00a0in 2009 by the Piedmont Regional Government.\u00a0Polo ICT is a network of more than 300 members\u00a0(companies -mainly SMEs- and research institutions) with\u00a0expertise\u00a0on ICT and big data, Smart City and Communities, eHealth, Energy and environmental technologies, Industry 4.0.,\u00a0Electronics, Computer Science,\u00a0Telecommunication, Depp tech, etc. FPI supports Polo ICT\u2019s\u00a0members in developing R&D projects and competencies, encourages industrial partnerships and strives to National and International networks, generating opportunities in the European context.\u00a0At Regional level,\u00a0FPI works together with the other 6 Regional Innovation Clusters\u00a0in\u00a0<\/span>Sistema Poli<\/span><\/i>\u00a0(the network of Innovation Clusters in Piemonte), a project\u00a0designed to accelerate technology transfer and foster collaboration across industries. By connecting key players in the innovation ecosystem, Sistema Poli strengthens competitiveness and drives sustainable growth in the region.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Since 2012,\u00a0FPI\u00a0is also the coordinator of the Italian Technology Cluster for Smart Communities (SmartCommunitiesTech), established by the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR) and aimed at fostering and supporting the development and implementation of innovative models of social integration, to offer solutions to problems of urban and metropolitan scale.\u00a0The cluster members include companies, research\u00a0centers\u00a0and academia as well as public administrations of\u00a0different sizes\u00a0throughout Italy.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1732199762928{margin-bottom: 40px !important;}”][vc_column][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1768387229944{margin-bottom: 1.875em !important;}”]<\/p>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]AKTANTIS and FPI have known each other for several years, following the initiatives, activities and projects developed<\/span>\u00a0by each entity and expressing the interest in collaborating to\u00a0<\/span>create synergies and concrete results for their members. Both entities enable the competitiveness,\u00a0<\/span>innovation<\/span>\u00a0and digitalisation of their territories,\u00a0<\/span>which are similar<\/span>, and so, specific collaborations related to support to SMEs\u00a0<\/span>have turn on the interest.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1732199762928{margin-bottom: 40px !important;}”][vc_column][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1768387175798{margin-bottom: 1.875em !important;}”]<\/p>\n

What actions have we shared?<\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]We are currently working on the\u00a0DigiVillae\u00a0project, funded by the Interreg ALCOTRA Programme.\u00a0<\/span>DigiVillae\u00a0is a cooperation project between Italy and France which aims to support small Alpine and rural communities in their transition to a digital and sustainable future. These areas currently face many\u00a0common challenges, including depopulation, limited access to services, poor digital\u00a0connectivity\u00a0and\u00a0a lack of shared tools for local development.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Together, FPI and Aktantis represent the SMEs\u00a0interests and competences to support the smart villages in their digitalisation processes, both internal and for\u00a0the territory. Their role is to enable the collaboration and matching of the different stakeholders of the ecosystem to contribute to the development of the territory.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
