[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]The Smart Systems Hub is part of the Germany-wide Excellence Initiative (Digital Hub Initiative) of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) and Europe’s largest co-innovation center in the field of industrial automation.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In the heart of the microelectronics in the middle of Europe, the Hub combines comprehensive expertise in the areas of software, hardware and connectivity in a vital network of over 700 partners \u2013 including key partners such as SAP, ZEISS, Telekom MMS and GlobalFoundries.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The aim of our work is to accelerate innovations in the industrial environment and to bring leading technologies of Industry 4.0 into application. To this end, the hub provides its customers with access to reference solutions and technologies (Inno:Lab). In addition, the hub creates spaces for cooperation between industry partners, startups and SMEs and develops concepts, prototypes, first product versions (MVPs) and viable business models in a methodically guided co-innovation process in a maximum of three months.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1732894584330{margin-bottom: 40px !important;}”][vc_column][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1742307517451{margin-bottom: 1.25em !important;}”]<\/p>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]The manufacturing industry, just like the other industries, is affected by advancing digitalization and automatization. Topics such as sustainability, <\/span>connectivity<\/span> and agility play <\/span>an important role<\/span> in this. Various software solutions, <\/span>robotics<\/span> and AI offer opportunities to become more efficient and faster. Smart systems can help companies to react more quickly to changing environmental requirements, to produce more sustainably and to create better networking within companies and along supply chains. Further, they can help to bring <\/span>different aspects<\/span> like sustainability and connectivity together. The focus is primarily on speed, which can keep up with the rapid developments in the industry and supports the agility of <\/span>the companies. Furthermore, the development of solutions with our partner network offers the opportunity to draw on current knowledge from research and the latest technologies from the startup world. [\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]The hub:stations initiative is a global network of physical spaces that reflect the structure of modern supply chains in manufacturing \u2013 distributed across Germany, Europe, and the world.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Just as manufacturing today relies on seamless global collaboration, our hub:stations serve as focal points for co-innovation, enabling organizations to develop, test, and implement cutting-edge solutions together. By linking these physical locations with the Open Smart Systems Hub community, we are creating an open, distributed ecosystem that transcends geographic boundaries and fosters innovation on an international scale.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Our network brings together companies, developers, researchers, and innovators who share a common goal: driving the future of industrial automation through co-innovation. With AKTANTIS now joining this movement, we are expanding our reach and strengthening the connections that make groundbreaking advancements possible. We are excited about the opportunities this partnership will unlock \u2013 from shared resources and expertise to new avenues.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We are now seven hub:stations with different focus topics, which can be linked to the future of manufacturing. Five of them are located in Germany, one in eastern Europe and one in western Europe. [\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]Our vision <\/span>is <\/span>to share our network power and <\/span>expertises<\/span> to <\/span>shape the future of manufacturing together through joint projects, <\/span>events<\/span> and visibility.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>
<\/span>One example of a project together, we are doing with our Open Smart Systems Hub Community, is the Global Thin[<\/span>gk<\/span>]<\/span>athon<\/span> in June 2025 <\/span>regarding<\/span> the topic Manufacturing-X<\/span>. <\/span><\/span>The Global <\/span>Thin<\/span>[<\/span>gk<\/span>]<\/span>athon<\/span> is<\/span> all <\/span>about<\/span> pushing<\/span> the<\/span> boundaries<\/span> of<\/span> industrial<\/span> automation<\/span> through<\/span> co<\/span>-innovation. This <\/span>unique<\/span> event<\/span> takes<\/span> place<\/span> simultaneously<\/span> at <\/span>various<\/span> locations<\/span> around<\/span> the<\/span> world<\/span>, <\/span>where<\/span> we<\/span> test<\/span> and <\/span>validate<\/span> real-<\/span>world<\/span> use<\/span> cases<\/span> using<\/span> the<\/span> Smart Systems<\/span> Hub\u2019s<\/span> Manufacturing-X <\/span>Testbed<\/span>. By <\/span>collaborating<\/span> with<\/span> our<\/span> international network <\/span>of<\/span> partners<\/span>, <\/span>we<\/span> explore<\/span> feasibility<\/span>, <\/span>identify<\/span> potential, and <\/span>work<\/span> towards<\/span> implementing<\/span> groundbreaking<\/span> solutions<\/span> for<\/span> the<\/span> industry<\/span>.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>
