The European Commission is launching a public consultation, inviting all micro/electronics sector stakeholders to share their views on the Chips Act — the European regulation on semiconductors — with the aim of evaluating and improving it.

In line with the Commission’s principles on better regulation, public consultation is an essential part of the evaluation of this text. The aim is to ensure that the legislation is effective, efficient, relevant and consistent, and that it provides clear added value to the EU.

This is why participants are invited to share their views on how the regulation currently work, as well as on possible future adjustments to ensure that market developments and technological and geopolitical realities are taken into account, thereby continuing to support the European semiconductor ecosystem.

The consultation is available online via the Commission’s Have Your Say public consultations portal, and will remain open until 28 November 2025.
